Frond is an online literary journal dedicated to publishing prose and prose poems from writers who identify as part of the LGBTQI2SA community. Visit our about page for more information about the editors and the inspiration for Frond.
Writers published in Frond will receive a $15 payment for the selected piece, which will be published online at frondliterary.com and distributed to a modest-and-growing e-mail list. Writers will also have the opportunity to share and promote another story, interview, or opportunity of their choice on Frond channels in the week after their story is published.
There is no fee to submit to Frond.
Writers must identify as part of the LGBTQI2SA community (but do not need to disclose how they identify).
Frond is seeking prose: this includes fiction, creative non-fiction, and prose poems, as well as weird bits of writing that aren’t really anything, but might be prose. We do not accept traditional poetry.
There is no word limit in either direction for submissions; the editors recognize that great stories come in all sizes, from 500 to 5,000 words and beyond, and they just want to see your best. In the spirit of honesty, we tend towards shorter pieces, but we are ready to be blown away.
Submissions must be previously unpublished original work.
