It’s been a while.
We couldn’t be happier to announce that Frond is returning, but first we’d like to acknowledge that we disappeared and apologize for that. We took an unplanned hiatus when the pandemic and other life commitments became too much for our tiny team of volunteers. Madison finished grad school, Nic published her first novel, Suture (Book*hug, 2021), and got gay engaged (!!!) but now we’re coming back and hoping to publish your queer prose!
Frond started as a little dream between two friends and the support that we were shown during our first publication run was more than we could have imagined. To us, the best part of running a lit mag is the simple fact that we get to read your writing! As writers ourselves, we don’t take this exercise in trust lightly.
Tomorrow, we’ll announce our second try at a second call for submissions, and we are so looking forward to reading your work.
As a reminder, Frond is an online literary journal for fiction, creative non-fiction, and prose poems by writers who identify as part of the LGBTQI2SA community. You can read everything we’ve published so far at frondliterary.com/frond and we hope that you do.
If you’d like to receive all future Frond publications and important announcements in your inbox, you can subscribe to our mailing list in the menu bar.
Thank you! We missed you! We hope you’re well!
