That’s right, we’re predictable: you’ve got a few more days to send us your work! We want to give you the (Canadian) long weekend to stress, write, and send us your fiction, non-fiction, and prose poems by our extended deadline: Monday, October 14!
Frond is just two people: Madison Rae Stoner and Nicole Brewer. We’re both writers, anxious humans, and big hearts, and it’s just the two of us reading all the work submitted to Frond. We hope you will trust us with the work you’re nervous about, the pieces you think might be “too” anything, or “not enough” something else. We want you to trust us, because we trust you! We’ll be reading every piece of writing that comes our way with love, attention, and respect, because you deserve it. And we’re excited to see what you trust us with! Visit frondliterary.com/submit.
As much as we love poetry, we’re not looking to publish poems in Frond, aside from prose poems. We encourage you to check out @frondliterary on Twitter, where we retweet and share calls for submissions that do welcome poetry!
Our submit page has all the details on how to submit, but here’s a quick recap:
Writers must identify as part of the LGBTQI2SA community (but do not need to disclose how they identify).
Frond is seeking prose: this includes fiction, creative non-fiction, and prose poems, as well as weird bits of writing that aren’t really anything, but might be prose.
There is no word limit in either direction for submissions; the editors recognize that great stories come in all sizes, from 500 to 5,000 words and beyond, and they just want to see your best. In the spirit of honesty, we tend towards shorter pieces, but we are ready to be blown away.
Submissions must be previously unpublished original work.
There is no fee to submit.
Writers selected for publication will receive a modest $15 payment.
Writers not accepted for publication will have the opportunity to receive a small amount of feedback on their submission.
